Important announcements:
In accordance with extraordinary measures issued by the Government of the Czech Republic in connection with the declaration of State of Emergency all visa procedures at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tehran are suspended until the end of July 2020 due to the spread of the SARS‑CoV‑2. Starting August 1, 2020 visa services are partially renewed for specific types of applicants and purposes of stay. See details and FAQs here.
Consular section
The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tehran has territorial consular and visa competence for Islamic Republic of Iran. Below you can find working hours and instructions where to find the necessary information. Latest changes and announcements can be also find here. Visa services:
The Embassy is responsible for visa services for citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran and for those, who have valid residence permit in Iran with validity for more than 1 year. You can find general information about visa / residence permit for the Czech Republic on the website here.

Communication methods and working languages:
The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tehran hereby announces that in accordance with Section 169 of Act No. 326/1999 Coll., On the Residence of Foreigners in the Czech Republic and on Amendments to Certain Acts (as amended), the working languages of the local authority (Visa Section) are Czech language and English language with the exception for interrogations which according to § 16 of the Administrative Procedure Code are always conducted in Czech language.
Applicants for long-term visas and residence permits who cannot communicate in the above stated languages need to arrange, at their own expenses, an interpreter.
The Embassy communicates by following methods only: email, regular post, fax or phone. The Embassy does not use any of social networks for communication.
The Embassy answers all emails, except spam, usually within 3 working days. You will not get any answers during the public holidays or weekends. Please, do not resend your requests or questions multiple times.
Fees:
All visa and legalization fees are to be paid in EUR - cash only. Payments in EUR coins are welcomed! Paying an exact amount is appreciated.
If the fee is stated by the Act on Administrative Fees No. 634/2004 Sb. in other currency than euro, than the euro equivalent based on current exchange rate of the Czech National Bank is charged.
