Exhibition opening of Hana Rysová´s photos „The Holy Land“

On 19 March 2015 the ambassador Ivo Schwarz opened at the Embassy of the Czech Republic an exhibition of photographs by Hana Rysová “The Holy Land”. In the course of the past 25 years Hana Rysová did not made documentary photographs or genre pictures in the State of Israel, but "painting with light" - images. By using the light Hana Rysová paints mainly stones. Stones as part of the building created by human hands, stones in nature, stones as artistic artefacts with their structure, shape and surface - stones as spiritual artefacts, as witnesses of stories that happened on them, in them and by them.

Hana Rysová was born June 8, 1945 in Prague. She grew up in Dobříš, from where she went to Lysá nad Labem to do an apprenticeship as a sign writer. In September 1964 she started to work as a graphic designer in a gloves producing plant in Dobříš. At that time she began to make professional photos. In the years 1968-1977 she worked as a photographer by the promotional staff for the Film Company Prague and made external study by the FAMU with specialization to Art Photography. She organized dozens of exhibitions, her photographs have appeared in dozens of books.
