Venue: April 30, 2016 at 7 pm, Jaffa Port

Czech Embassy and Czech Centre are happy to invite you to the exhibition „Broken Dreams“ in the presence of an author, the Czech photographer Antonin Kratochvil, who will have a gallery talk at the 4th International Photography Festival in Jaffa Port.

"Last 20 years I have been working around the world, each place is very different, but they have something common. Every of these places are protected from different reasons. One is protected by government, the other one by military. For example diamonds mines are protected by military against illegal mining. Chernobyl and city of Pripyat is protected and forbidden because of radiation disaster. I hope my work is reflecting those issues, which are still important and actual. And these issues should be still addressed and continued to be worked on."

Antonín Kratochvíl is one of today’s leading voices in the field of photojournalism and a founding member of VII Photo Agency. As a photographer of the world’s leading magazines and newspapers, Kratochvíl has documented historical events, revolutions, disasters and human catastrophes, in a unique and humane manner. Among his array of awards are a Lucie Award for Outstanding Achievement in Photojournalism, a Leica Medal of Excellence, and three World Press Photo first prizes.
