Contract for delivery of Israeli mobile radars (MADR) for the Czech Army signed

A contract for the delivery of mobile air defense radars (MADR) for the Czech Armed Forces was signed between representatives of the ministries of defense of the Czech Republic and Israel on December 5, 2019, in Prague. This long-term project confirms the excellent relationship and trust between our two countries, and will be realized as a government-to-government (G2G) purchase.

The project will include subdeliveries by the Czech defense industry for the main supplier from Israel - the company Elta Systems, a subsidiary of the state-owned Israel Aerospace Industries. The overall contribution of Czech suppliers to the acquisition project will amount to no less than 30 % of the total contract value, which stands at approx. 152 million USD. Participation of the Czech defense industry in the project is further proof of its significant technical and technological prowess.
The contracted radars - model No. ELM 2084 MMR (Multi-Mission-Radar) - form part of the Iron Dome system, which has been operational in Israel since 2011. As is widely known, its main task is to protect the Israeli civilian, military and critical infrastructure, including against missile attacks. The system is highly effective in detecting targets, estimating possible impact areas, warning the population, and eliminating the threats as and if necessary. The new radars will thus significantly increase the air defense capacity and capability of the Czech Armed Forces.
