CZECH LANGUAGE SUMMER VACATION COURSE

Who can apply?

This summer vacation Czech language course is intended for Czech compatriots or their descendants who live in Israel or in another country abroad and would like to learn Czech or improve their existing Czech language skills. The participants should be not less than 18 years of age at the beginning of the course. The upper age limit has not been set.

Course Characteristics

The course will give you the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the Czech culture and get to know part of the Czech Republic. Tuition takes place in groups according to ability level and is led by experienced teachers. A generous extracurricular program (forums, excursions, lectures, weekend day trips, etc.) is prepared for course participants. Upon completing the course, participants receive a graduation certificate.

In 2018 the course will be held from 20 July to 17  August .

Application within the framework of a scholarship program

Czech compatriots or their descendants can receive a scholarship for this course. Language tuition and board and lodging are provided to course participants free of charge, and they receive a financial contribution towards travel to and from the Czech Republic. Health care costs are covered within the scope laid down in Act No. 326/1999 Coll., on Residence of Foreigners in the Czech Republic and on Amendment of Some Other Acts, as amended.

Each application dossier must comprise a completely and legibly filled out application form and a letter of recommendation of some compatriot association in Israel and is to be submitted to the Czech Embassy in Tel Aviv (please find the contact below) BY THE END OF FEBRUARY.

Application outiside the framework of a scholarship program

This course is also open to Israelis and other foreign nationals who do not hold or cannot apply for the aforementioned scholarship. In that case they send to the Czech Embassy only the completely and legibly filled out application form. The prices: tuition and study materials - EUR 605, extracurricular programs + weekend trips – EUR 230, accommodation – EUR 300 and full board – EUR 285. For more information visit the website

RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS AT PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC

Research fellowships at public institutions of higher education in the Czech Republic are intended for Czech compatriots living abroad. They focus on maintaining and spreading knowledge of the Czech language and cultural consciousness. Compatriots may study subjects such as Czech language and literature; Czech language and literature pedagogy, history, ethnology, art history, or theology. These one- or two-semester courses are held in Czech, usually at the Faculty of Philosophy of a university in the Czech Republic. Students who are accepted receive a scholarship, a financial contribution towards travel to and from the Czech Republic, and are entitled to board and lodging for the same price as Czech students. Upon completing their studies, students receive a graduation certificate or confirmation. 

Application forms may be submitted only via the Embassy of the Czech Republic and must be submitted by 15 March for the winter semester or winter and summer semester or by 15 August for the summer semester.
