Delegation of Israeli nanotechnology companies visited Czech Republic

On May 19-22, nine representatives of the Israeli nano-sector and Israeli governmental agency ISERD visited the Czech Republic. The main goal of this unique nanotechnology mission was to get to know the key companies from the Czech nanotechnology sector. The mission’s focus was to find interesting synergies between both Czech and Israeli nanotechnology sector and possibilities for B2B cooperation. It is important to emphasize that it was historically the very first nanotech mission of Israeli companies to the Czech Republic.

On the first day of the trip, the delegation attended a presentation about the Czech nano-science led by Jiří Kůs, Chairman of the Association of Nanotechnology Industry of the Czech Republic. Members of the delegation learnt about the main players in the field and about their nano-specializations among which are destilation and filtration of water, nano-fibers, nano-optics, human tissue replacement, 3D batteries and much more. Another part was a presentation of grant organizations of the Czech Republic (TAČR) and Israel (ISERD) and of the possibilities and conditions of grants in either the framework of bilateral projects DELTA or EU grant program HORIZON 2020.

Participants were introduced to major Czech companies in the industry, including HE3DA (nano-battery), IQStructures (3D nanoprint), Pardam (nanofibers), Elmarco (Nanospider technology for fiber production) and Crytur (crystal growing). The delegation also visited the nano-research center at the Technical University of Liberec where they learned about its main research areas and new projects.

The mission was financially supported by the economic diplomacy tool named “PROPED” of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Czech Embassy in Tel Aviv, CzechInvest and the Czech Nano-Association organized the delegation.
