Complete Prohibition of Entry of Foreigners to the Czech Republic starting 16.03.2020 and Suspension of Visa Processing

In effort to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Government of the Czech Republic adopts strict measures regarding the entry of foreigners to the territory of the Czech Republic, as well as movement of the citizens of the Czech Republic and its lawful residents.

The Government of the Czech Republic adopted on Thursday 12.03.2020 emergency measures regarding the entry of foreigners to the territory of the Czech Republic by adopting Order No. 198. whereby it, among others, suspends acceptance of Schengen visa and long-term and permanent residence permit applications at all diplomatic missions of the Czech Republic in effort to stop the spread of the coronavirus. The Government also suspends processing of Schengen visa applications, which have not been decided yet, and processing of all long-term visa and residence permit applications (over 90 days) submitted at diplomatic missions.

Starting on Monday 16.03.2020 at 00:00 AM, the Czech Republic government bans the entry to all foreigners to the territory of the Czech Republic. Foreigners who are holders of permanent residence permits and long term residence permits are allowed to enter after this deadline.
