Information on Visas

Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tirana has visa section for the territory of the Republic Albania. Citizens of Albania, holders of biometric passports are exempted from visa requirements for a short term stay (Schengen visa) since December 2010, in case of a short term employment up to 90 days they can apply at the Czech Embassy in Tirana.
 

Citizens of third countries - long term residence permit holders residing in Albania or permanent residents can apply for a short term (Schengen) visa at the Czech Embassy in Tirana. Further information on additional requirements are available HERE.    

For other types of visas – long term visa or long term residence permit they can apply at the Czech Embassy in Tirana.

For an appointment to submit your application, please send an e-mail to: Tirana.Visa@mzv.gov.cz

Kindly provide your name and surname, date of birth, nationality, number of your passport and its validity, type of application (in case of employee card application please provide vacancy number), valid e-mail address and telephone number. No applications can be processed without a scheduled appointment.

!!!!!!!Every foreign national who, as of 1 January 2021, is issued a long-term residence permit for the territory of the Czech Republic, and also every foreign national who is issued a permanent residence permit after this date without the precondition of previous authorised stay in the territory is obliged to take the adaptation and integration course within one year of the date of collecting their residence permit.!!!! This obligation does not apply to certain categories of long-term residence permits (eg. for the purpose of study, investment, employee and blue cards issued under the Highly Qualified Employee and Key and Scientific Personnel governmental programmes) and persons under  15 years of age or above 61 years of age, EU nationals and their family members. DO NOT OVERLOOK:

-Supporting documents may not be older than 180 days with the exception of a passport, registry documents (birth certificate or marriage certificate), diplomas and similar documents and photo (if reflecting current appearance). *Albanian registry documents and  criminal records (Dëshmi Penalite)  cannot be older than 90 days. 

Criminal record extract issued by the state of the applicant´s citizenship and by the state where the applicant resided in the last three years for more than six months  (in Albania Dëshmi Penaliteti not  older than 90 days )

-Supporting documents must be submitted in Czech. Documents in another language must also be submitted in official translation into Czech.  #

-The following documents must always be submitted in their originals: passport, supporting documents on purpose of stay, registry documents (birth certificate and marriage certificate), and parental consent.  These originals will be returned to the applicant should he / she wish to keep them. Passport is always returned to the applicant and is submitted again when issuing the visa.

-Other supporting documents may be submitted as originals or officially verified copies.

-SUBMIT ONLY COMPLETE APPLICATIONS CONTAINING ALL THE DOCUMENTS.

-INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS ARE UNACCEPTABLE => THEY WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED FOR PROCESSING AND WILL BE RETURNED TO THE APPLICANT. (§ 169h of Act on Residence of Foreign Nationals)
