Long Term Visas

Long-term visa applications are submitted to the diplomatic missions of the Czech Republic. In case of Albanian citizens, the application can be submitted at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tirana (please see the instructions in Chapter Visa and Consular Information) or at the Czech Embassy in any country where they temporary reside. The diplomatic mission forwards the application to the Ministry of Interior for an evaluation and decision. If the application is evaluated positively, the long-stay visa, with the maximum duration one year, is issued by the diplomatic mission where the application was filed.
 

Long-term visa application is filed when the expected stay will exceed 90. It is issued for a variety of purposes – health, culture, sport, family, study, research or entrepreneurship.

If the purpose of stay continues, it is possible to apply on the territory of the Czech Republic at the Ministry of Interior for an extension, i.e. for a long-term residence permit, which is issued for the purpose of employment, study, and scientific research, unification of family.

Long-term visa requirements:

  • application form
  • travel document
  • 2 photos
  • biometric features – fingerprints
  • fee (waived for Albanian citizens)
  • supporting documents proving
    • purpose of stay (for example school acceptance letter, spa voucher, document proving family relations etc.)
    • accommodation (for example rent agreement ,  confirmation on providing accommodation (signature must be verified by a notary) etc.)
    • financial means (for example bank statement etc.)
    • PARENTAL CONSENT FOR CHILD´S TRAVEL – written in a free form and signed by both parents / legal guardians (signature does not need to be officially verified); parental consent is not required from a parent / legal guardian who (1) lodges the application on behalf of a child younger than 15 – only signature of the second parent / legal guardian is required in such a case, (2) already resides in the Czech Republic and the child will reside here with him / her – only signature of the second parent / legal guardian is required in such a case, or (3) provides a proof that he / she cannot submit such a content due to reasons beyond his / her influence.
  • criminal record extract issued by the state of the applicant´s citizenship and by the state where the applicant resided in the last three years for more than six months  (in Albania Dëshmi Penaliteti not  older than 90 days )
  • upon request a document proving fulfillment of measures against spread of infectious disease
  • travel health insurance in case of visa issuance (The minimum coverage must be EUR  400 000 )
