On November 28 and 29, 2021, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Japan visited Fukuoka Prefecture, where he handed over the cup to the winner of the Grand Sumo Tournament and met with the Japanese-Czech Association in Fukuoka.

On the last Sunday in November, the finals of the Grand Sumo Tournament took place in the hall of the Fukuoka Kokusai Center. The sovereign winner of the Tournament was the 29-year-old Mongol wrestler Yokozuna Terunofuji. According to a long tradition established in 1970, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Japan presents the winner of the Grand Sumo Tournament with a diploma and a hand-cut cup made of Czech crystal. During the closing ceremony of the November Grand Sumo Tournament finals, Mr. Martin Tomčo, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Japan, personally handed over the diploma and the cup to the winner.
