The Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Japan, Martin Tomčo, visited Okayama Prefecture at the end of the year, where the 40th annual marathon Sanyo Women's Road Race Tournament took place at the prefecture's athletic stadium on 19 December, and its winner, Agnes Muqali, was awarded with the Cup of the Czech Republic. The awarding at the women's marathon in Okayama by the Czech ambassadors in Japan began in 1990, and this year it is already the 31st award ceremony. The well-known athlete Kinue Hitomi (1907-1931), the first Japanese Olympic medalist with ties to the Czech Republic, also comes from Okayama. At the race, the Ambassador also met the current medalist, Olympian and long-distance runner Yuko Arimori, who is also a native of Okayama.

The Ambassador´s program continued with a courtesy visit to the Governor of the Prefecture, Mr. Ryūta Ibaragi. During the meeting, there was a positive talk about future cooperation in areas other than the women's running race.
