"The Future of Central Europe and the Role Japan Can Play There" - 10th Visegrad 4 plus Japan Seminar 2022

On June 14, 2022, in cooperation with Tokyo Josai University, the 10th seminar of the V4 plus Japan format was held on the topic "The Future of Central Europe and the Role Japan Can Play There".
 

The 10th year of the seminar organized by the embassies of the Visegrad Group V4 (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia), this time in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and Josai University, was entitled and addressed the topic "The Future of Central Europe and the Role Japan Can Play There".

The Czech Republic was represented by the Executive Director of the International Visegrad Fund, Mr. Petr Mareš, who in his inspiring presentation explained the support that V4 countries provide in the Western Balkans region to the local civil society and also outlined possible areas of cooperation with Japan.

The International Visegrad Fund was established on June 9, 2000 by all four member states of the Visegrad Group (V4). The fund is based in Bratislava and focuses on supporting regional cooperation within the Visegrad region and between the V4 region and other countries, the Western Balkans region and the Eastern Partnership.

The other speakers of the Seminar were Ms. Krisztina Varju, Ministerial Commissioner for the Hungarian Presidency of the Visegrad Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (Hungary), Mr. Marek Repovský, Director of the Asian, Pacific and Latin America Department of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs (Slovakia) and Mr. Henryk Litwin, Director General, European Policy Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Poland). And for the Japanese side, Mr. Kentaro Uesugi, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and Mr. Katsuro Kitagawa, Deputy Director-General, European Affairs Bureau, Ambassador in charge of Visegrad Group plus Japan, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, participated in the Seminar.
