Visegrad 4 + Japan Seminar 2016

Security Situation in Europe/Middle East and
New Role of Japan in the International Security Cooperation

According to the established tradition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, in close collaboration with the Josai University and the embassy of the presiding country of the Visegrad 4 group of countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia), organized this year again a joint „V4 + Japan“ seminar.

The seminar took place on 10th February 2016 in the premises of the Josai University. Reflecting the recent political developments in various parts of the world, the Czech Republic, as the presiding country of the V4 for the on-going period, proposed to dedicate the seminar to the analyses of the evolution of the security situation in the Europe and Middle East regions and the new role Japan is expected to play in the international security cooperation. Eight lectures by outstanding representatives of top think tanks and academic institutions from the V4 countries and Japan were given. The lectures were divided into four sessions and every session was followed by a discussion. The seminar attracted significant audience and may be considered a sound success.
