Commemorative soirée with a writer Pavel Kosatík and his book dedicated to Věra Čáslavská

On September 22, 2017, Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tokyo organised a commemorative soirée with a Czech writer Pavel Kosatík which was dedicated to the most successful Czech athlete of all time, Ms. Věra Čáslavská, who passed away one year ago. Věra Čáslavská, the women who won the hearts of the people all around the world, and who was always instrumental in the promotion of the Czech – Japanese relations.
A well-known Czech journalist and writer Pavel Kosatík, the author of biography of Věra Čáslavská – Life at the Olympus, which was written along with Věra Čáslavská as a co-author in 1972, depicted not only her life story but also his own memories related to this women, who he had been meeting during their mutual work over this book.
The soirée was accompanied by a lot of unique photos that also contributed to creation of a pleasant athmosphere of the event. In the end, attenders could hear the favourite song of Věra Čáslavská as well.
The event met with a positive response from the audience. Mr. and Mrs. Tetsuo Yamakawa, the former ambassador of Japan to the Czech Republic also attended this event.
