"Nový Svět" - Piano reconstruction

Czech Embassy and the Czech Center in Tokyo are being part of the Matsue Novy project - Czech piano renovation.

2015 spring, Ms. Eva Takamine (director of the Czech Center in Tokyo) contacted us regarding a piano which was made in Bohemia in 1902 by the company Koch and Korselt. It was found in Matsue City in Shimane prefecture in a room of the historical building of  "Tano clinic". Mr. Tano, who is the owner of the "Tano clinic" donated this old building to Matsue City.

It was a broken piano without strings, not possible to play. But currently, Mr. Kazuyuki Ido, a Director of Art piano, Inc., located in Matsue Yakumo, is working on its restoration. The piano will be placed at the historical building of Kounkaku from 1903 which will also be renovated.
