PKF - Prague Philharmonia Japan Tour 2021

The PKF - Prague Philharmonia Orchestra has successfully launched its Japanese concert tour, which received auspices of the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Japan. Under the direction of conductor Leoš Svárovský, the orchestra will perform a total of six concerts in Japan from 18 to 26 September 2021.
 

The world-famous PKF - Prague Philharmonia Orchestra came to Japan with its nowadays main guest conductor Leoš Svárovský, who is well known to the Japanese audience for being a guest conductor of the Japanese Aichi Central Symphony Orchestra Nagoya from spring 2014 to this year.

PKF - Prague Philharmonia was founded in 1994 by Jiří Bělohlávek and since then the orchestra has spread the Czech musical tradition on prestigious stages in many countries around the world, where it performs with renowned world conductors and soloists. In addition to a number of performances in the Czech Republic, the orchestra has given concerts with conductor Leoš Svárovský for example at the Royal Opera House in Oman or in Petra in Syria. During the current tour in Japan, the concert soloists are first-class cellist Santiago Cañon-Valencia, pianist Keigo Mukawa and pianist Kyohei Sorita. The music of Bedřich Smetana, Antonín Dvořák, Ludwig van Beethoven and Sergei Rachmaninov will be performed. The orchestra was invited to Japan by the Koransha agency and the tour consists of six concerts, which take place in Kanagawa, Gunma, Shiga, Aichi and Tokyo. The PKF - Prague Philharmonia tour is held under the auspices of the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Tokyo, Mr. Martin Tomčo, Ph.D.

Our Embassy had the opportunity and honor to attend one of the PKF - Prague Philharmonia´s concerts, at the Tokyo Opera City in Tokyo on September 19, 2021. The program consisting of music pieces of the world-famous composers, L. v. Beethoven, S. Rachmaninov and W. A. Mozart, clearly impressed the audience with his flawless interpretation under the baton of conductor Leoš Svárovský. The soloist of this program was the pianist Kyohei Sorita, whose performance with the PKF - Prague Philharmonia orchestra harmonized into a perfect musical experience.
