Submitting Visa and Residence Permit Applications as of May 11, 2020

Visa Section of the Embassy of the Czech Republic resumes accepting and processing some types of visa applications as of May 11, 2020.
 

In accordance with Decision of the Government of the Czech Republic No. 511 from May 4, 2020, visa agenda is resumed in the extent as follows:

SCHENGEN VISAS:

Acceptance of applications from          

family members of EU / Czech Republic citizens

international transport workers

critical infrastructure workers 

● diplomats and officials of international organizations

seasonal workers (based on Decree of the Ministry of Labor and Social Services No. 322/2017 Coll.)

● health and social services employees and their family members

● food processing employees

● employees in professions belonging to the Highly Qualified Worker Program and Key and Research Staff Program

● in the interest of the Czech Republic

● in exceptional emergency situations as defined in Article I Paragraph 4 i) of the Protective Measure of the Ministry of Health from June 30, 2020

 

LONG-TERM VISAS AND RESIDENCE PERMITS:

a/ Acceptance of applications for         

LONG-TERM VISA FOR THE PURPOSE OF SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT (based on Decree of the Ministry of Labor and Social Services No. 322/2017 Coll.)

SPECIAL WORK VISA

● visas / residence permits within the KEY AND SCIENTIFIC PERSONNEL PROGRAM, including family members

● visas / residence permits within the HIGHLY QUALIFIED EMPLOYEES PROGRAM, including family members

● visas / residence permits within the PROGRAM QUALIFIED EMPLOYEE  

● LONG- TERM RESIDENCE PERMITS FOR THE PURPOSE OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH and applications for long-term residence permits of their spouses and minor children

● LONG-TERM AND PERMANENT RESIDENCE PERMITS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FAMILY UNIFICATION, but only if the family unification involves spouses and minor children of foreign nationals who already reside in the Czech Republic on a basis of a long-term or permanent residence permit; other family members cannot file these applications at the moment

● LONG-TERM VISAS FOR THE FAMILY PURPOSE, but only if the family unification involves spouses and minor children of foreign nationals who already reside in the Czech Republic on a basis of a long-term or permanent residence permit; other family members cannot file these applications at the moment

LONG-TERM VISAS FOR THE PURPOSE OF STUDY and RESIDENCE PERMITS FOR THE PURPOSE OF STUDY

● LONG-TERM VISAS FOR THE PURPOSE OF OTHER, but only for educational activities

● LONG-TERM VISAS FOR THE PURPOSE OF CULTURESPORTS and WORKING HOLIDAY

visas for the purpose of collecting residence permits (the so-called D/VR type visa) – the so-called VISA STICKER TRANSFER – for any purpose of stay

b/ Resumption of processing of applications

As of May 18, 2020, processing of all applications for long-term visas and residence permits that have been started before March 14, 2020 (that means continuation of examining those applications that have been filed before the state of emergency).

Notice  entry to the Czech Republic

Foreign nationals are kindly requested to check the conditions of entry to the Czech Republic before their travel.

Similarly, foreign nationals are requested to see what quarantine measures - if any, they need to observe after their arrival to the Czech Republic. Quarantine measure may include the requirement to submit a negative Covid-19 test.

Kindly refer to the website of the Ministry of the Interior, primarily to the pdf-format table titled "Conditions for entry of persons to the territory of the Czech Republic in accordance with the Ministry of Health Protective Measure."

 

Obligatory submission of document against introduction of infectious disease upon application submission

Applicants for Schengen visas and long-term visas and residence permits for purposes of economic and education activities are obliged to submit, upon lodging the application document on fulfilling requirements against introduction of infectious disease.

The document is required when lodging the following applications:

Schengen visa for the purpose of study

Schengen visa for the purpose of employment

Schengen visa for the purpose of seasonal employment

Schengen visa for the purpose of entrepreneurship

Employee Card

Blue Card

Intra-Company Employee Transfer Card

Long-term visa for the purpose of seasonal employment

Long-term visa for the purpose of entrepreneurship

Long-term visa for the purpose of study

Long-term residence permit for the purpose of study

 

The document is to be issued by the receiving entity in the Czech Republic, i.e. employer or school (university).
