Foreigners are only allowed to enter the Czech Republic under exceptional conditions within the Protective Measure of the Czech Ministry of Health. If you are a Czech citizen a Czech passport is required for trouble-free travel from Canada to CR. Canada continues to be one of the countries with a very high risk of COVID-19 (dark red zone). Both foreigners and Czech citizens entering the country have to follow certain epidemiological rules.
Current epidemiological rules for entry into the territory of the Czech Republic can be found on the website of the Czech Ministry of the Interior and also in the attached summary table, at the lowest part within a dark red stripe. Third-country nationals, i.e. foreigners outside the European Union, may continue to enter the Czech Republic only within the exemptions in the Protective Measure of the Czech Ministry of Health (Section I, item 7; in the attachment). Travelling to Czechia for other than essential reasons is banned.
The epidemiological rules for entering the country (tests, quarantine, Public Health Passenger Locator Form) are the same for Czech citizens as well as for foreigners who arrive to CR within the exemptions.
Additional information can be found on the websites of the Czech Ministry of Health and the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Depending on the country of transit additional travel rules are set by airlines. We recommend that you contact the airlines before purchasing a ticket.
