The restrictive rules of entry into the Czech Republic for foreigners from outside the EU are still in effect.

(This article expired 12.07.2020 / 23:59.)

Canadian citizens can travel to CR only if the purpose of their travel falls within the exceptions under the Protection Measure of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic.

According to the recent EU decision Canada does not present a significant risk regarding potential spread of the disease COVID-19. However, this ruling does not bring significant changes in terms of the conditions of entry for Canadian citizens into the Czech Republic. Until further notice Canadians can travel to CR only in exceptional cases.

The EU decision allowed the Czech Government to cancel the requirement of 14-day quarantine (or alternatively a negative COVID-19 test) for any potential traveler from Canada upon entering the Czech territory.  However, until further notice, only those Canadians who travel to the Czech Republic within the exceptions of the Ministry of Health, or citizens of the Czech Republic, can take advantage of this positive change.

This doesn’t apply to those travellers who in last 14 days before arrival spent more than 12 hours in the country which is not on the list of  “green countries” published by the Ministry of Health. Those who spent more than 12 hours in last 14 days in countries, which are not on the list of countries with low risk of contracting COVID-19, must report that fact upon arrival to the Czech Republic to the nearest reporting centre and undergo at their own expanse a mandatory test on COVID-19 within 72 hours from arrival.
