Consular Fees

The exact amount for each fee is determined by Czech Law (No. 634/2004 Coll) and it is therefore non-negotiable. The exact dollar amount is determined on the 1st of each month based on the current exchange rate of Czech crown to Canadian dollar.

We accept payments:

- credit card; in this case, the amount is charged in CZK or EUR according to the applicable tariff (it does not include bank fees for currency conversion charged by the cardholder's bank). Visa, Visa Elektron, Mastercard, Maestro, Diners Club International, UnionPay, Discover, JCB;
- cash;
- money order;
- certified check (personal checks cannot not be accepted).

As of August 1, 2023 our consulate is able to generate a link for online payments. If you are requesting consular services from outside Toronto via mail, please indicate in your cover letter your e-mail address and we will send you the link. The payments are processed in the Czech crowns via Czech ČSOB bank portal. The goal is to eliminate sending cash in the envelopes.

If you are sending certified check by post, please note that a new fee schedule is published on the first of each month using the current exchange rate. As a result, rates may change slightly and if your payment is not sufficient at the time of application, your request may not be processed. In such cases, we recommend that you send your fees well in advance of the end of the month or at the beginning of the month after the new current fees have been published.
