Czechia will support two local small scale projects in Mongolia

On 17 April 2018, implementation contracts for selected two local small scale projects were signed at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ulaanbaatar for a total funding amount of CZK 732,761 (EUR 29,000), those are part of the development assistance provided by the Czech Government in 2018 through its Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ulaanbaatar to meet Mongolia's development goals. Priority has been given to one project in the area of ​​agricultural development and one in the field of health care.

Ambassador Jiří Brodský first signed an implementation contract with Mr. Otgonkhuu Sharkhuu, Director of the Technical and Vocational Education Center of Erdene Soum (Tuv Aimag), for a project called "Dairy Products - Training Center No. 11-18-MN01". This is a supply of milk processing technology equipment that will be assembled in a training center in Erdene soum and mobile milking equipment from Czech manufacturers for a total amount of CZK 427,841 (EUR 19,944), which will be used for practical training of apprentices in the newly opened in the major of "Milk Processor". The finished products will then be distributed to the pupils of this center and sold by the center to raise funds for the necessary maintenance and development of the school. The project, which is also being informed to the Mongolian Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Education, should be completed in early September 2018.

Ambassador then signed the implementation contract for the project "The Czech KURY wheelchair to help disabled children in Mongolia No. 11-18-MN02 ". This is a delivery of a total of 15 wheelchairs, with a total amount of CZK 304,920 (EUR 9,056), which will be assembled at the site, 10 of which will be allocated in Ulaanbaatar and 5 to Erdenet. The goal is to introduce high-quality Czech wheelchairs in Mongolia to help overcome the difficulties of patients after severe injuries or congenital disabilities. The project, which is also being informed to the Mongolian Ministry of Health, should be solemnly completed by October 2018.
