Handing over special lamps for the treatment of newborn jaundice

On 11 June 2020, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Mongolia Jiří Brodský handed over four new special medical lamps for the treatment of neonatal jaundice from the renowned Czech manufacturer of medical equipment, TSE Medical, to the 2nd maternity hospital in Ulaanbaatar, together with Minister of Health of Mongolia, Mrs. D. Sarangerel.

The MNT 31 million project, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, is part of the Czech Republic's official development assistance (ODA) and is implemented as part of a small local project in cooperation with the Mongolian company Diasys, which will train hospital staff and provide servicing.

The Czech Republic has been supporting the Mongolian healthcare system in the long term, starting with the construction of the 1st Hospital in Ulaanbaatar, its modernization and furnishing, through the supply of modern hospital beds from Linet or the project focused on increasing access to health care in rural areas of western and southern Mongolia. For this year, the government of the Czech Republic has also decided to provide Mongolia with used functional medical equipment from five Czech hospital facilities.
