EU mission in Mongolia to host Czech exhibition "History of Europe"

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the EU and Mongolia, upon initiative of Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ulaanbaatar and funding by EU Delegation in Beijing, an exhibition featuring selected 20 drawings of the monumental book "History of Europe" by esteemed Czech artist and graphic designer Renata Fučíková was opened at the Red Ger Art Gallery on 9 Sep 2014, in the presence of EU Commissioner. It truly became the most visible event of the celebrations being organized for anniversary.
 

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism, Sport, Media and Youth Mrs. Androulla Vassiliou, representatives of EU Delegation in Beijing and Mrs. Ts.Oyungerel Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Mongolia where the Commissioner has became a personal guide to the Minister for an almost hour, explaining about the art pieces, history of Europe, as well as, EU. Also, members of the local diplomatic corps, representatives of socio-political and cultural spheres, many pupils and students in Mongolian secondary schools and universities and Czech alumni were present. Notably, Commissioner Mrs. A.Vassiliou and Minister Ts.Oyungerel gave interviews to number of media during event.  

Visitors had the opportunity to get familiar with the “History of Europe” with a help of narrative brochure with color pictures of all the exhibits and texts both Mongolian and English.

The exhibition will be closed on 27 Sep 2014 until which several educating study tours for Mongolian students are expected.
