(This article expired 01.06.2021.)

INTERNOM – 9 July, 2015 at 16:00

Jointly organized by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Mongolia, Prague Zoo and SelengePress LLC Publishing company.

The Director of Prague Zoo Mr. Miroslav Bobek has written dozens of short stories about animals, how they are protected but also vulnerable, about how zoo works and what people are working to take care of animals in zoos, as well as in protected areas. He also writes about return of Przewalski horses, almost extinct in Mongolian steppes by the middle of the twentieth century, from the Prague Zoo to Mongolia. Anthology of his short stories translated into Mongolian under the name "Where Do our Takhis Fly from?", with illustrations and photographs will be a wonderful gift for both children and adults. It is a collection of interesting, educatory, but also funny as well as touching stories. The book is an inspirational guide to read during trips and for long winter evenings, while readers may return to them again and again for their entire life. During his time at the Zoo, Director Bobek has made several successful transportations of takhi horses into the Great Gobi B strictly protected area in Gobi-Altai aimag. In the beginning of July 2015, a Czech military aircraft is bringing the most recent group of takhis from Europe to Mongolia. Coming to Internom on 9 July, you will have opportunity to hear the very fresh information about how trip went, how many horses were returned to their wild homeland again - and how yourself can help protecting and caring for them in future.
