Reception for the National holiday

On 25 October 2018, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Mongolia held a reception on the occasion of the 100th Anniversary of the Foundation of Czechoslovakia.

Czech Ambassador to Mongolia, Jiří Brodský, together with the member of Mongolian State Great Khural B. Javkhlan, opened with the introductory speeches on Czech-Mongolian relations and the history of Czechoslovakia. The Ambassador stated that most of the past century was the Czech state of democracy, and for the last 68 years has been and is a close friend to Mongolia. Before 1989, Czechoslovakia was the second trading partner of Mongolia and trade exchanges accounted for 6% of Mongolia's total foreign trade. The Czech Republic has continued to support Mongolia even after 1990, both in international forums and in the field of development aid and trade relations.

The ambassador opened a panel exhibition in English and Mongolian dedicated to the founding of the First Republic and also featured Bedřich Smetana's compositions by the pupil of the Mongolian State Conservatory and the private music school Šikulka who will be presenting this repertoire in the Czech Republic at the International Smetana Piano Competition in Pilsen .

The reception was also attended by the State Secretary of the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs D. Davaasuren, Ambassador of Mongolia in the Czech Republic N. Naranbat, members of the diplomatic corps, Czech and Slovak compatriots, Mongolian graduates of Czech and Slovak universities and more than two hundred significant guests from the Mongolian business and cultural sphere.

Refreshments for guests were prepared by Delicatessen and Czech beer was sponsored by Pilsner Urquell.
