Summer School of Slavonic Studies 2021

The Summer Schools of Slavonic Studies offering intensive Czech language courses are organised by several designated public universities in the Czech Republic.

The courses are held during the summer months (July – September), their length ranges from 3 to 4 weeks depending on the course content determined by each Summer School and are designed for foreign students, teachers, translators and interpreters and other experts active in the field of Czech/Slavonic studies. 

Due to their broad scope they are, however, open to anyone else who is interested in the Czech language, literature, history and culture. The Summer Schools offer language courses at various levels of proficiency, seminars on the Czech literature, culture and history, free-time activities including theatrical, musical and dance performances, trips etc.

Interested Mongolians can participate in the summer school as recipients of scholarship from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic.

Based on the Agreement between the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science of Mongolia on Co-operation in the Fields of Education, Science and Youth, there are 3 scholarships quoted to the Mongolian students. These scholarships can only be awarded to applicants who are nominated by the Ministry of Education and Science of Mongolia within the deadline.

Scholarship includes:

  • Free board and lodging (incl. breakfast, lunch and dinner)
  • Coverage of course fees,
  • Free access to cultural events, trips organized within a Summer School course.

Scholarship does not include:

  • International transport costs,
  • Costs connected to Visa issuance,
  • Insurance costs.

The study of the 3 scholarships recipients will be held at the below 3 institutions on given period.

The deadline for sending applications to Czech Republic is March 31, 2021. However, Embassy of the Czech Republic in Ulaanbaatar must receive all filled applications and its accompanying documents (Curriculum Vitae) only by means of the Ministry of Education and Science of Mongolia by March 19th, 2021. Application (See Application form_2021_SSSS) must be in English, or in Czech.Please kindly into your consideration that applicants are allowed to study in the aforementioned institutions only and have to specifically choose one of them in their application form in advance.

Selection process:

Successful candidates will be contacted directly by the Summer School organizers.

A scholarship holder is obliged, once he/she obtains information on acceptance, to confirm his/her attendance at the Summer School. If an admitted scholarship-holder cannot attend the Summer School concerned, he/she is obliged to inform immediately the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (contact e-mail: matus.ziga@msmt.cz) or the relevant contact person at the Summer School.

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic reserves the right to change the place and term of the Summer School course covered by the scholarship. Scholarship holders are not guaranteed to be placed at the Summer School requested in his/her application.
