Wild Horses are home again

As stated in the press conference of Mr Bobek, Director of Prague Zoo, another four mares of Przewalski horses from European breeding were successfully relocated in Mongolia again to strengthen the herd in the Gobi B Strictly Protected Area.

The Czech Military CASA airplane is landed in Gobi-Altai province at the time when Ulaanbaatar and central area of Mongolia flooded with the long-awaited rain - so none of us has no doubt that they brought this marvelous to their new home!

Read about this year's transport and check out the photo album.

Do not forget to buy a fresh edition of the book called "Return of the Wild Horses" in the bookstores next days! In it, Mr. Bobek captures all the details of such a complicated project, such as restoring the breed of almost extinct animals and then transporting it to his native country, organized by the Prague Zoo since 2011. The book provides instructive reading for the whole family, lots of interesting information and beautiful pictures - and it's a great tip for reading during summer holidays. At the same time, the book is an excellent opportunity to recall this year's 25th anniversary of returning Takhi back home to Mongolia.
