Parliamentary friendship group meeting held between Mongolia and the Czech Republic

The members of the Czech-Mongolian Friendship Group in the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic held an online meeting with the members of the Mongolian-Czech Friendship Group in the State Great Khural of Mongolia on February 23, 2021.
 

The meeting was attended also by the Czech Ambassador to Mongolia and the Chargé d'Affaires of Mongolia to the Czech Republic. The sides discussed about cooperation between the two parliaments, planned state visits, trade projects, cooperation in the fields of environment, education, science and research, as well as measures taken by the two countries in connection to COVID-19, consular issues related to it, the qualified employee program for Mongolian citizens, and the conditions for Czech businesses and tourists to travel to Mongolia.

Mongolian linguist, former Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Mongolia, and currently the head of the Mongolian Friends Association, PhD Jiri Sima, co-owner of Shark Aero CZ, D.Sc Petr Hill, and Vice President of the Defense Industry Association, Daniel Svoboda attended the meeting as guests from the Czech side.

The Czech-Mongolian Friendship Group in the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament was formed in April 2019 with nine members, and Daniel Pavlas was elected chairman of the group. The Mongolian-Czech Friendship Group in the State Great Khural of Mongolia has ten members and is chaired by Enkhbayar Battumur. The current members include Nyambaatar Khishgee, current Minister of Justice and Home Affairs, and Javkhlan Bold, the Minister of Finance as well. The meeting was the first high level meeting of Czech-Mongolian relations this year, as well as the first inter-parliamentary meeting of Mongolia after the Mongolian parliamentary elections at the same time.
