Visit of the Ambassador to Binder Sum

On 10 - 11 October 2019, Jiří Brodský, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Mongolia, visited Binder Sum in the province of Khentii, and thus continues his visits to individual Mongolian regions.

During the visit he negotiated with Governor Solongo Erkhembayar and other representatives, including school heads and local companies. Binder is interested in finding a partner city in the Czech Republic, the Governor was also interested in the system of scholarships provided by the Czech government and the possibilities of cooperation with Czech companies in the field of tourism and modernization of utilities.

The Ambassador recalled that last year the representation of the Czech NGO Caritas in the province of Khentii co-realized a project focused on the development of agriculture, especially vegetable cultivation. Cellar and green houses were built in Binder, and thanks to the support of the Czech Development Agency, there were also trained cultivation techniques and technologies that would make local farms more self-sufficient in vegetable cultivation.

At the end of the visit, the Ambassador met with the director of the Binder´s hospital, Osokhbayar, and examined the hospital's equipment. He mentioned successful commercial deliveries of medical facilities from Czech companies to Ulaanbaatar hospitals and informed about the conditions of the so-called Small Local Projects, thanks to which the medical technology of the hospital in Binder could be partially modernized, following the example of a similar project in 2012.
