The Ambassador met with the Minister of the Environment and Tourism

On January 22, 2018, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Mongolia, Mr. Jiri Brodsky met with the Minister of the Environment and Tourism of Mongolia Mr. Tserenbat Namsrai.

The main topic of the meeting was the discussion about current Czech-Mongolian bilateral development cooperation projects in the field of the environment. The Ambassador stressed that the long-term activities of the Prague Zoo in Mongolia are highly praised by both the Czech government and the Czech public and are the most visible reference of Czech-Mongolian relations. In this connection, he handed over a proposal for a bilateral Memorandum between the Prague Zoo and the Mongolian Minister of the Environment and Tourism and assured the readiness of the Czech party to sign the Memorandum, for example, during one of the upcoming high level visits to the Czech Republic.

The Minister Mr. Tserenbat appreciated the fact that two Czech development cooperation projects in Mongolia will continue in 2018, in the field of forestry and soil decontamination and the transfer of know-how of Czech companies. Hydrogeological research projects are also important, and the Mongolian side appreciates the work of Czech geologists and water management companies.

In the end, the Ambassador mentioned the projects of two Czech non-governmental organizations, especially in the area of ​​air quality improvement in Ulaanbaatar, the preparation of VII Czech-Mongolian Intergovernmental Joint Committee Meeting and he highlighted the Czech supplies of water treatment plants, the provision of drinking water for the capital city and the investments of Czech companies in the construction of apartments and the modernization of the electricity distribution network.
