Ambassador M. Chatardová and PR of Timor-Leste met with the President of the UN GA

Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the UN, Ambassador Marie Chatardová together with the Permanent Representative of Timor-Leste to the UN, Maria Helena Lopes de Jesus Pires, met with the President of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, María Fernanda Espinosa Garcés on February 6, 2019.

The main point of the meeting was the process of harmonization of agendas of the UN General Assembly and the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) with the Agenda 2030 for sustainable development, which is co-facilitated by the two ambassadors. President of the UN General Assembly supported their intention to continue searching for possible synergies in the work of intergovernmental bodies of the UN, with a special focus on solutions for deficiencies in covering specific goals of the sustainable development agenda and overlapping efforts in agendas of these different agencies.
