Ambassador M. Chatardová and youtuber Kovy spoke during The Rights Lab side-event on participation

Ambassador Marie Chatardová together with Karel Kovář known as youtuber Kovy spoke during “The Rights Lab” side-event on participation. The side-event took place on April 9, 2019 on the sidelines of the eighth session of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum and was organized by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, European Youth Forum and the Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic to the United Nations.

The aim of the event was to discuss the status of youth and to enhance their understanding of their right to participate in public policy in context of implementation of the Agenda 2030. The event was based on the concept of “lightning talks” with the use of Mentimeter software. Youtuber Kovy delivered the opening speech on youth participation at the international level. The Czech Republic took an active part in selection of topics chose by the Office of the UN Hight Commissioner for Human Rights on effective implementation of the right to participate in public matters.
