The Czech Republic fully supports the principle of responsibility to protect and is an active member of the Group of Friends.

Mr. Karel Komárek, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. spoke during the general debate and he emphasized the need to strengthen the prevention mechanisms and international cooperation. He also acknowledged the important role of the Human Rights Council and voiced support for the International Criminal Court and international criminal tribunals.
