At the occasion of celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution, on October 30, 2019 the Bohemian National Hall in New York hosted the opening of an exhibition curated by the National Museum of the Czech Republic and presented by Czech Center in New York and the Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic in New York.

The opening night was introduced by Miroslav Konvalina, director of Czech Center in New York, and Marie Chatardová, Permanent representative of the Czech Republic to the United Nations. Speakers of the opening evening also included Director of the National Museum, Michal Lukeš and curator Michal Stehlík.

The exhibition, which will remain in place until January 12, 2020 presents the timeline and necessary regional context of events of the late 1980s, which led to the demonstrations in November 1989 and eventually to the collapse of communist regime in Czechoslovakia. Original photographs and TV and radio recordings are presented with illustrations by Tomski&Polanski artistic duo.
