National Day reception at the Bohemian National Hall

On the occasion of the 101st anniversary of the foundation of Czechoslovakia on October 28, 1918, National Day reception was held on October 22, 2019 at the Bohemian National Hall in Manhattan. Reception was organized by the Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic to the UN, Consulate General of the Czech Republic in New York and the Bohemian Benevolent and Literary Association (BBLA).

Several hundreds of guests from diplomatic circles, representatives of local Czech and Slovak communities, businessman and other distinguished guests celebrated this occasion, which was commenced by speeches of Marie Chatardová, Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the UN, Miroslav Rameš, Consul General of the Czech Republic and Joseph Balaz, president of the BBLA. Czech and American national anthems were performed by opera singers Kateřina Kněžíková and Adam Plachetka, respectively. Success of the event was underscored by exquisite Czech cuisine and traditional Czech music.
