Prague Spring 2020

For the first time in its 75-year history the Prague Spring International Music Festival finds itself in a situation where it will be unable to present its concert programme as planned, and this despite several years of preparation to ensure that the festival is all set to go, months ahead of schedule. Online broadcasting will start on May 12. The base of the alternative programe will be eleven concerts that will be broadcasted online from five Prague stages and one Brno stage. The online broadcasting will be available on the social media of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Czech consulates, embassies and Czech Centers around the world.

The Prague Spring International Music Festival is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. It is the oldest classical music festival in the Czech Republic. Over the years of its existence, the festival has built a reputation and worldwide respect. It is held regularly in the month of May and always begins with the musical cycle Má Vlast by Bedřich Smetana. The world's top artists perform at the festival.
