The Czech Republic highlighted the key role of gender equality and participation of women in peace processes

The Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the UN in New York spoke during the Arria Formula meeting on “Ensuring the full, equal and meaningful participation of women in UN-led peace processes” on March 8, 2021.

In the national speech, ambassador Marie Chatardová stressed that cross-cutting reference to gender equality through all three pillars of the UN is the only way towards a sustainable future from the perspective of the Czech Republic. This conviction is also included in the second recently adopted National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security agenda.
