Youth delegates participated in the operations of the Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic to the UN in New York and delivered a statement at the United Nations

Youth delegates, Pavel Linzer and Kryštof Stupka, visited the New York UN headquarters and participated in the operations of the Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic to the UN between September 28 and October 10, 2022.

Youth delegates delivered a statement on September 30 during a plenary meeting of the UN General Assembly Third Committee. They spoke about youth participation, gender inequality, and the rights of LGBTQ+ people. Along with other European youth delegates, they also organized an event on youth participation in decision-making processes.

Pavel Linzer and Kryštof Stupka also participated in the interactive dialogue with the President of the General Assembly and several meetings of the EU Delegation. Apart from the Third Committee deliberations that deals with human rights issues, the youth delegates also attended several sessions of the Fifth Committee on budgetary and administrative issues.

Apart from meeting many other youth delegates from all over the world, the Czech youth delegates also met with the highest-ranking Czech citizen in the UN structure, the Director of the UN Division for Ocean Affairs and Law of the Sea, Mr. Vladimír Jareš, and Mr. Jan Švejnar, professor at Columbia University. They have also discussed youth collaboration and current affairs with the Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the UN, ambassador Jakub Kulhánek.
