Coronavirus in the Czech Republic

(This article expired 30.06.2020.)

Information for foreigners on the website of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic.

Information in English is available here.

On 10 March 2020, the Minister of Health issued an emergency measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the Czech Republic. This measure applies to foreigners who do not have permanent or temporary residence in the Czech Republic or do not work there; especially tourists.

All persons who do not have permanent or temporary residence in the Czech Republic or who do not work there are obliged to endure the control of symptoms of infectious diseases after entering the Czech Republic.

If signs of an infectious disease are found, they are obliged to assist healthcare professionals in the collection of the samples. Furthermore, they are obliged to tolerate restrictions on the freedom of movement during the laboratory examination of the samples.

For foreigners with permanent or temporary residence, and those working in the Czech Republic, the obligation to report symptoms of an infectious disease to their GP immediately is still in effect, as well as the obligation to undergo a quarantine after their return from Italy.

Details can be found on the website of the Ministry of Health: https://www.mzcr.cz/.
