Return of Czechs and Slovaks from the Baltic States by the Czech special military aircraft

On March 22nd, 2020 at 15.30 the Czech special army plane with 49 Czech and Slovak citizens took off from Riga to Prague. The Czech and Slovak citizens from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, who expressed their interest, flew home. At the same day the Czech special army plane repatriated citizens of Latvia and Lithuania from Prague to Riga.

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Vilnius expresses its gratitude to all those involved in the organization and implementation of the repatriation - the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of of the Republic of Latvia, the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Riga, the Embassies of the Czech Republic in Riga and Tallinn.

The Embassy of the Czech Republic expresses its gratitude to the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic for organizing the special army plane as well as Czech soldiers at NATO eFP Battalion Battle Group in Lithuania and its German management for transportation of the Czech and Slovak citizens from Lithuania to Riga.

The successful repatriation was an excellent result of close cooperation and understanding between the EU members and NATO, and the repatriation proved that together we can handle the difficult situations.
