ABOUT THE ARTISTS:

Markéta Vokáčová (born 1988) began playing the violin under the direction of Miroslav Novak. In 2003, she studied at the Prague Conservatory under Professor Pavel Kudelásek. She graduated from the Music and Dance Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague from the class of Professor Leoš Čepický, performing Khachaturian’s Violin Concert with the Prague Philharmonic. She successfully participated in several national and international competitions and has completed a number of interpretation courses in Pilsen, Czech Republic, led by Stephen Shipps, in Semmering, Austria, led by Hague Shahama, as well as Václav Hudeček’s Academy in Luhačovice, Czech Republic where she received the best participant award in 2012. As a soloist, Vokáčová performed with several orchestras such as the Prague Chamber Philharmonic, West Bohemian Symphony Orchestra of Mariánské Lázně, Camerata Moravia, Virtuosi Pragenses, Leoš Janáček Chamber Orchestra, and Olomouc Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra.
 

Currently, Vokáčová focuses mainly on chamber music as a member of the Kalliope Trio, which she founded in 2011. The trio won many awards: 2nd prize at the International Competition of Antonin Dvořák, 1st prize at the Bohuslav Martinů Foundation Interpretation Competition, 3rd prize at the International Johannes Brahms Chamber Music Competition in Gdansk, and in 2016, the trio was awarded the Laureate Award for Johannes Brahms Chamber Music Competition in Poertschach, Austria. Since 2009, Marketa has been a member of the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra. In 2014, she became a regular member of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra.

Stanislav Gallin was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia, but he has been living in the Czech Republic since 2001. His numerous competition successes include 1st Prize in Nersingen, Germany, and 1st Prize at the Prague Junior Note. Stanislav has performed as a soloist with the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, St. Petersburg Radio Orchestra, Les Solistes Européens Luxembourg, Moravian Philharmonic Olomouc, Pilsen Philharmonic, Bruno Walter Festival Orchestra, etc. He has worked with distinguished conductors, including: Alexei Anikhanov, Tomáš Brauner, Jack Martin Handler, Jakub Hrůša, Friedemann Riehl or Peter Vrábel. As a chamber player, he has appeared on stages in many European countries, the United States and Africa. He is also a member of the Orbis Trio, which is ranked among the finest European ensembles.
 

Gallin graduated from the St. Petersburg Conservatory under Vladimir Mischouk. He continued his studies at the Prague Academy of Music with Peter Toperzer, and graduated in 2007 performing Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto in Prague. He also participated in a study program at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria (Prof. Peter Lang). Additionally, he has taken international master classes with Lazar Berman, Eugen Indjic, Avo Kouyoumdjian, Pierre Jasmin, etc. In 2012, he completed his postgraduate study at the University of Performing Arts in Bratislava. Currently, he works at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.
