Czech-Canadian folk artist Lenka Lichtenberg will premiere songs from her newest recording album Masaryk at the Czech Embassy on November 2, 2017, at 6 pm.

With a voice for the ages, this award-winning artist melds innovative expressions of traditional songs with her own contemporary compositions, combining folk, jazz and world into a unique celebration of her roots. She won the Traditional Singer of the Year at the 2012 Canadian Folk Music Awards. Marvel at the fusion of world music she brings to each performance.

Lenka Lichtenberg creates uniquely Canadian world music, channeling the rich Toronto soundscapes of Middle East, India and Brazil, and her own Central European heritage. A child star in her native Prague, Czech Republic, she is a published composer, vocalist (Yiddish, English, Czech, French, Russian, Hebrew), and bandleader with 6 solo CD releases and several collaborations on her resume. Lichtenberg is in the midst of a diverse international concert career, traveling across continents as a solo artist, with her group “Fray,” or with one of her collaborative projects. Embassy policy: No bags or suitcases allowed. Only small purses permitted but will be checked at the door. No coat check available. You must pass through security for entrance. RSVP confirmation and photo ID required. Doors close at 6:15 pm.

Parking: Non-metered parking is available on Spring of Freedom Street and Tilden Street.

Closest Metro: The Embassy is about a 15-20 minute walk from the Van Ness Metro Station.
