Czech That Film Festival: Stay-at-Home Edition

The Embassy of the Czech Republic invites you to the launch of the stay-at-home edition of the Czech That Film Festival starting April 27, 2020 and running until June 7, 2020. Each week, a different film will be featured online for a nominal fee of $4 at www.czechthatfilm.com. Please check out the schedule below.

The online festival will highlight six top Czech films and opens with Old-Timers (Staříci), winner of the 2019 Czech Film Critics' Awards for Best Film, Best Actor (Jiří Schmitzer), and Best Director. The film centers on two former political prisoners seeking revenge for injustices done to them during the 1950s, based on true events. The festival also features On the Roof (Na střeše)which garnered seven Czech Lion nominations, the country’s top honors, in such categories as best film, screenplay, and director. The film reveals a moving story of friendship in an unlikely pair. Check out more of the best in contemporary Czech film while staying safe at home.
