Easter Workshop and Egg Hunt

The Embassy of the Czech Republic invites you to celebrate the coming of Easter through Czech and American traditions on Saturday, April 6, 2019, from 11 am to 1:30 pm. Register your little ones for an Easter egg decorating workshop and an egg hunt.          

Sign up your elder ones (ages 6–12) for a special egg decoration workshop (11 am–12 pm OR 12:30 pm–1:30 pm). The workshop will utilize folk artisan skills on various materials under the direction of a diplomat. Children under 6 years old will decorate eggs at a come and go pace (11 am – 1:30 pm) with Miss Czech and Slovak Queens 2018/2019 Jane Buckley (USA) and Emma Carlin (KS).

The egg hunt (ages 1-10) at 12 pm in the Embassy’s spacious garden will delight with Czech candies and sweets. Live baby farm animals such as bunnies, lambs, and alpacas from the Frederick County Sheep Breeders Association, Blue Rock Farm, and Whispering Meadows Farm will be on site for cuddles and selfies.

Space is limited. | Admission is free; however, each child must be confirmed to enter.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. 
 

Please bring your own basket and white hard boiled eggs for decorating!

In the event of inclement weather, the egg hunt would not take place, but other Easter activities will be held inside.

Embassy Security Policy: For entrance, all guests will be subject to security screening. Photo ID is required and must match RSVP confirmation for each individual. No admittance will be permitted without proper registration. Bags and suitcase are not allowed. Only small purses are permitted but must be opened for inspection. Coat check is not available.                      

Parking: Non-metered parking is available on Spring of Freedom Street and Tilden Street.            

Closest Metro: The Embassy is about a 15-20 minute walk from the Van Ness Metro Station.
