Echoes of EKOFILM: Chickens, the Virus and Us

The Embassy of the Czech Republic presents the screening of the documentary Chickens, the Virus and Us (Slepice, virus a my) on April 28, at 6 pm, as part of the Echoes of EKOFILM festival. 

The documentary is a family ‘reality show’ trying to follow the lives of hens saved from egg farms and adapted back into living in ‘their own backyard’ during the Coronavirus pandemic. (Directed by Filip Remunda, 2020, 74 min., Czech with English subtitles.) The film is being screened in connection to Earth Day 2022, supporting environmental protection.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR:

Filip Remunda is a Czech filmmaker, cinematographer, and producer. In 2005, he graduated from the Film and Television Academy of the Performing Arts (FAMU) in Prague, focused on documentary filmmaking. He has made such films as Czech Dream (2004), Film Encounters (2007), and Czech Peace (2010). Additionally, he is co-founder of the Institute of Documentary Film (IDF) and actively lectures at the Ex Oriente Film, an international documentary development workshop organized by IDF. He runs the independent film company Hypermarket Film Ltd.
