Film and Beer: Journey to the Depths of the Student’s Soul

Bistro Bohem will screen the film "Journey to the Depths of the Student’s Soul" (Cesta do hlubin študákovy dušeon January 21, at 7 pm, as part of the ongoing film and beer series. In the film, the headmaster has examined students over the course of their studies to understand their developmental process.

The headmaster even has a museum of relics from the students as they progress through the years from toys, to love letters, sporting gear and musical compositions. As teachers try to enlighten their class and prepare them for the future, humorous scenarios unfold from the cast of characters in the class. Meanwhile, one of the most educated teachers remains scared to take his state exam, and his students devise a plan that just might remedy the situation. Enjoy an evening at Bistro Bohem watching one of the most celebrated Czech classic film comedies.

About the Series: This marks the ninth year of the Film and Beer Series at Bistro Bohem. This year, the series will focus on films having a school setting or an educational theme to commemorate the founding father of modern education – John Amos Comenius, a Czech philosopher, pedagogue, and theologian. This year marks the 350th anniversary of his death. All films will screen in Czech with English subtitles. Each screening includes one free beer as well as an introduction by a representative from the Czech Embassy. All screenings are subject to change.
