Film & Beer: School is the Foundation for Life

Bistro Bohem will present "School is the Foundation of Life" (Škola základ života) on January 16, 2018, at 7 pm, as part of the film and beer series. When a student magazine publishes an essay criticizing a teacher and conditions at the school, the faculty vows to get to the bottom of it.

The Czech comedy centers on an anonymous student who mocks teachers in the student magazine Roar, leading to an uproar amongst the teachers. A furious investigation ensues to find the culprit with humorous dynamics playing out between the high school students and the teachers. Will the culprit own up to his antics so that the students can participate in an upcoming sports tournament?

About the series: This marks the seventh year of the Film and Beer Series at Bistro Bohem. This year, the series presents films representing the last 100 years. All films will screen in Czech with English subtitles. Each screening includes one free beer as well as an introduction by a representative from the Czech Embassy. All screenings are subject to change.
