Happy Hour: Barks and Beer

The Czech Embassy and City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties are partnering to hold a Happy Hour: Barks & Beer with the opportunity to adopt local dogs and cats at the Czech Embassy on September 14, 2019, from 4 pm-6 pm. After the Velvet Revolution, Marta Kubišová focused on her love for animals, hosting an overwhelmingly popular show about abandoned pets called "Do You Want Me?" (Chcete mě?).  In her spirit, the Czech Embassy will host the local non-profit City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties and their canines and felines in need of loving homes. Come enjoy a refreshing Czech beer and get to know cuddly, adoptable furry friends. 

About City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties:
City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties rescues adoptable dogs and cats in overcrowded and high-kill shelters, where resources are severely limited. It offers a lifeline to as many of these wonderful animals before they are euthanized due to lack of space by finding these animals permanent and loving homes in the DC metropolitan area. City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is a "rescue" not a "shelter." It consists of a network of volunteers who foster cats and dogs in their homes. The organization welcomes help in any capacity, through volunteering, fostering, adopting, sponsoring and/or donating.

Admission is free; however, RSVPs are required. 
You may bring your four-legged best friend to the event but the dog must be on a leash at all times.
 
Embassy Security Policy: For entrance, all guests will be subject to security screening. Photo ID is required and must match RSVP confirmation for each individual. No admittance will be permitted without proper registration. Bags and suitcases are not allowed. Only small purses are permitted but must be opened for inspection. Coat check is not available. 
    
Parking: Non-metered parking is available on Spring of Freedom Street and Tilden Street.

Closest Metro: The Embassy is about a 15-20 minute walk from the Van Ness Metro Station.
