Kids Euro Festival: Fairy Tales for Emma

Date: 03 November 2019 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM, Venue: Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens

As part of the Kids Euro Festival, the film "Fairy Tales for Emma" (Pohádky pro Emu) will screen at the Hillwood Estate, Museum and Gardens on November 3, 2019, at 10 am! Bring your family for this heart-warming tale.

Synopsis: One month before Christmas, a call changes one man’s life forever. Peter Miller has been working for the Immigration Office in London for many years, estranged from his family. Out of the blue, a call from a social worker in Prague informs him that he has been identified as the father of an eight-year-old child named Emma, whose mother has been in a serious car accident. Peter can’t believe it, but what if Emma really is his daughter? In Prague, he meets Marie, a hotel manager consumed by her job. She offers her help during a critical time. So begins the game of love ... Will this be a “fairy tale” ending after all? (Dir. Rudolf Havlík, 112 min., Czech with English subtitles)

As part of the Mutual Inspirations Festival this year, there are a couple of events specifically geared towards children to highlight the extraordinary mother of the banner personality - Marta Kubišová, whose daughter Kateřina brought light into her life when she most needed it.

This event is also part of the Kids Euro Festival taking place throughout the Washington, DC, area from October 26 to November 10. Now in its 12th year, Kids Euro Festival is one of the largest cultural festivals for children in America. For more information about the festival, visit www.kidseurofestival.org.
