Fairy Tale Angel of the Lord 2 and Actor Jiří Dvořák in DC

The fairy tale Angel of the Lord 2 was screened in the presence of Jiří Dvořák, the famous Czech actor on December 13, 2017 at the Avalon Theatre in Washington, DC.

Angel of the Lord 2 (Anděl Páně 2) is the sequel to the popular Czech film fairy tale "Angel of the Lord" about the angel Petronel who works at Heaven’s door, but thinks that he deserves a better job. The film was a domestic box office smash and nominated for six Czech Lion Awards in 2017.

The screening was followed by Q&A with a special guest, silver screen star Jiří Dvořák who plays Uriah (Uriáš) the devil in this delightful holiday film. The audience used the opportunity to take pictures with Dvořák and enjoyed the Christmas atmosphere.

THE FILM:

The angel Petronel wants a new job and his eternal tempter, devil Uriah (Jiří Dvořák), starts to provoke Petronel saying, “Just pick an apple from the tree of knowledge and you will know what only God knows and the way to well-deserved recognition.” In the skirmish, the rare fruit rolls down to Earth. The scatterbrained angel and his friend, the devil, must go and find the apple in the world of people. On Earth, the angel and devil find themselves in a small Czech town on the eve of St. Nicholas Day.  After a series of human and “divine” tests, the heroes eventually find that the path to knowledge leads primarily through self-discovery, strength of friendship, love and forgiveness.
